"This is the general sketch of what has occurred to me. It is at the service of my friends for so much as it may be worth."

Alexander Hamilton on his proposed Christian Constitutional Society

If we have not been getting the reactions we want from public officials, perhaps it is because our actions are not the proper ones to produce such reactions.

When we say we want you to take "action" with the Christian Constitutional Society, we don't mean that we want you to call, write, or e-mail your congressman.   It may mean that we want you to help replace your Congressman, or if you are blessed with a good one, help re-elect them.  Good public officials don't have to be badgered into doing the right thing.

The letters, e-mails and phone calls that we want you to make are to your friends and fellow church members.  We want you to invite them to your home for "idea parties", or gatherings   This is where we endeavor to cut through the haze of pop-culture silliness and make our society more like the one in which early Christianity spread- one focused on a search for truth.   In our case, truth about God's standards for civil government.

The classical Greeks and early Romans spent many hours debating and refining the great ideas of the day.  This culture of thoughtful reflection provided an environment where the best, not just the loudest, ideas could win.  Our Founders also incubated in such a culture.    If you agree to hold a gathering of friends in your home, we can provide online audio or video content to stimulate the mind and encourage the heart.

Gatherings can be done in a number of ways, including various methods which permit live interaction with the Society Members who authored the content you choose to discuss.

Gatherings are not exclusively for purposes of education, though that is the first and foundational activity of the sevenfold activities from our charter.  Gatherings can be used to facilitate each of the activities from our charter, which are the heart of the "action" in our action center.
